Work Experience

It has been a pleasure to have Kaya Lindsey-Jones join the team for a weeks’ work experience. Kaya has undertaken constituency research, drafted press releases and attended visits with myself in the constituency. It has, hopefully given him an insight into my work both in the Assembly and across Cardiff South and Penarth.

This is the feedback that we’ve had from Kaya on his week with my office:

My work experience with Vaughan Gething’s Support Staff and the National Assembly for Wales was a wonderful process to be a part of. Throughout the week, I had the chance to observe the roles of each of the constituency office and see the level of administration behind the work of the Health Minister. Additionally, the plenaries I had attended -including Questions to the First Minister- also provided remarkable insight into the actions of government and political debate between Assembly Members and Ministers. Additionally, I was able to see the Assembly’s interactions with the public through inquiring and working with the Education Team and touring students around the National Assembly and Senedd buildings. Being able to experience the working environment of the National Assembly was an unforgettable experience which I’m very grateful for!
